The 2012 Cameroon Convention in the United States of America kicked off on Friday in Dallas, Texas with many outdoor activities.
Soccer matches played in the beautiful summer sun that covers the Lone Star State reminded many of the tropical climate that is prevalent in Cameroon.
With many Cameroonians coming from out of state, a slew of soccer teams were ready on Friday, the 10th of August 2012 to hit the soccer pitch.
The Washington DC Metro area (Virginia, Maryland and the city of Washington DC), Atlanta in Georgia, Houston, a couple of hours away from Dallas and also in Texas, Oklahoma, and many other states, and metro areas were represented in this annual festival that celebrates Cameroonian culture.
There was also a veteran team, with elder members of the Cameroonian diaspora resident in the United States.
The different matches were very friendly, and the services of professional International referees and linesmen were retained for this great event.
Activities continue Saturday and Sunday in various venues across the Dallas Metroplex.
